Breeding - Level 2

Section 1 covers the practical information required by those responsible for mating, whelping (or kittening) and weaning of cats and dogs. The importance of soundness and fitness is examined and explained, as is the importance of a suitable environment and socialisation .

Section 2 provides a basic knowledge of genetics and introduces the concepts of hereditability, dominant, recessive and threshold characteristics, inbreeding, line breeding and out crossing.
